Presets are climate analogues for this equation-world instrument, not exact astrophysical simulations.
Temporal Resolution
climate Δt100
sun Δt8
Stable default: climate Δt starts at 1× and can rise to 4×; sun/day-night defaults are slowed for an Earthlike baseline.
Δt scales the numerical weather update, not just drawing. Lower values make evaporation, transport, rain, freeze and water relaxation evolve more gently. Sun Δt only affects the day/night orbit.

diffusion passes1
The protected v1.6.17 diffusion path is active: 100% vapour, 100% cloud, one conservative cross-face pass.
Diffusion redistributes existing sky water and remains closed-system. Extra passes cost additional weather time. Higher values soften cell-scale and Coriolis banding, but very high values can flatten fronts and storms.
Transport Balance
pressure transport100
lattice transport100
Coriolis transport100
These are gain controls on the existing conservative transport organs. Zero disables that transport contribution; 100% exactly preserves the previous branch; values above 100% strengthen movement without creating water.

Erosion is off. When enabled, repeated surface runoff can gently cut channels and deepen preferred drainage routes. This is a terrain-feedback experiment, not a full sediment or tidal model.

Coriolis is off. Planetary rotation is physically separate from the visual spin control. When enabled, wind turns continuously across cube-face borders; transport mode conservatively redirects existing vapour and cloud.

Simulation and display resolution witness loading…
Texture is off. The protected original cell renderer obeys grid and LOD.
Texture pyramid: one frozen colour master is built at the simulation-grid resolution. 32/64/128/256 use area reduction, equal resolution is one-to-one, and larger targets use bilinear expansion. Texture pixels reveal a coherent sampled world snapshot; they do not create new simulation cells. “Queue live texture test” requests a fresh snapshot; if a build is active, it waits its turn rather than cancelling.
Truth mesh maps the generated texture onto the normal face planes, so grid and LOD remain visibly authoritative. Presentation shell uses a separate rounded mesh for photography and low-cost viewing. Both sample the same solved world; neither creates simulation detail or feeds back into weather, topology, probe, hydrology, or analysis.
